BOOK YOUR STAFF TEAM HERE UP TO 16 DELEGATES Intended Audience The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that has been specifically designed for those who would like to become a Mental Health First Aider in their workplace. This qualification raises learners’ awareness of mental health, develops an understanding on how to support, reassure and signpost fellow colleagues to professional support. Mental Health First Aiders play a vital role in reducing the stigma associated with mental health in the UK. Overview Throughout this 2-day course, learners will develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to actively promote positive mental health in the workplace by covering a range of topics, including: understanding mental health and its importance, awareness of their own wellbeing as a Mental Health First Aider, common mental health conditions, how to support those experiencing poor mental health at work with tools such as active listening and non-judgemental support. Topics will include: Depression, Stress, Psychosis, Self Harm, Bi-polar disorder, Easting Disorder, Anxiety, Suicide, Listening Skills, Self care and Wellbeing, Risk Factors, Protective Factors Action Planning and Equality. The qualification includes how to actively listen and have a conversation, provide suggestions but empower the individual to make their own decisions on how to best provide assistance in difficult times. The Learner will also gain an understanding of laws that apply to the workplace associated with mental health. Entry requirements Learners must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the training. Learners should have an interest in the area of mental health due to the content of the course and the nature of the role of the mental health first aider. There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy. Training space must be discussed prior to booking to ensure it can meet the assessment conditions and criteria requirements. Whilst we ensure that delegates feel supported at all times, there are hard hitting topics and any concerns should be discussed prior to booking.
